As I was walking through the hall this morning I noticed a really tiny shoe on top of the bookcase. At first glance it looked like it might be a relic from the days when the Bloglets were into Action Man but on closer inspection I realised it was too small even for him to squeeze his tootsies into. So, I’m mystified about it’s origins. I suspect it may be the work of Number Two Son who has departed for the Leeds festival and who would find it amusing to think of his family spending several days pondering over the source of tiny items of footwear.
Glennia from The Silent I has joined the ranks of podcasters, and contributes to an online radio broadcast, Career Mom Radio . . . go and have a listen, she does a great job. I found her contribution particularly interesting because she addresses the issue of working mums vs stay at home mums, or more specifically the way mothers often feel the need to compete and justify their own choice by dismissing the alternative. It’s sad that so many women feel like this because neither option is easy and it would be better if we pulled together and supported each rather than allowing ourselves to become segregated.
Oh, and did you know cows have regional accents? You know it’s funny somone has mentioned this because I’m sure the ones over the road say ‘moo bye eck’

Surreal. Wonder if any other odd things will turn up?
Those pesky cows have been on the news frightening me a lot lately.
Cows having regional accents? LOL! I came over here to say that i found another person taking my content. Found out via that website you recommended. I have taken the step of contacting the companies were the domains are registered. I think that the people who own the domain have done too much to have the privilege of contact with me (LOL). It’s very scary actually….but hopefully they will listen. I think i asked this before but have you ever wondered about finding out if worlwide opinions has had the same treatment? I will definitely have a listen to glennias radio thingy, especially as she also tried to help me. Pippa
P.S I found out via copyscape how to do the copyright logo. in html it’s ©. Don’t know if it will work but it might be an extra deterrent.
Pie – it’s not cows you should be scared of, it’s sheep. They aren’t as stupid as they would have us believe.
The shoe has disappeared, I’m hoping that is cat related. If not, I think I’m moving because there is something really spooky going on.
Pippa – apparently so! Although, I grew up on a dairy farm and I can’t say I noticed the cows mooing with a Warwickshire accent.
The copyright thingy will deter some people, so it is useful to have. Apparently, it’s a good idea to have the word copyright too, because the little icon isn’t recognised in some countries. BTW, there is a little bit of javascript that updates the year automatically, I’ll dig it out and post it for you tomorrrow. Really, I should add it to this blog too. Keep forgetting LOL
ps: A pat on the back for contacting the hosting companies – if they remove the site you are protecting other bloggers too.
In a way I feel sorry for some of these bloggers. I don’t think most of them realise they are breaking the copyright laws. The sites they buy the software from use a lot of blurb to make it sound as though it is perfectly acceptable to copy content from other sites and blogs. Most of the customers are newbies who don’t know how things work and it’s only when they get a bit more knowledge that they realise they have been ripped off and have placed themselves in danger of prosecution.
Do listen to Glennia’s podcast, she is great, really professional. The rest of the cast is aimed at working/self employed Mums, but you might find some of it useful.
Thanks for the mention, Kate! Also thought your advice to Pippa on copyright violating scum was spot-on, too.
New Career Mom Radio show is up sometime on Thurs., 8/24. The theme is “time management”.
Glennia – I’m about to have a listen, I subscribed to the feed using my podcast listening thingy. It’s great, it downloads new programmes and I just open it up and listen.
