I am still alive. I haven’t been abducted by aliens or the Men in Black. Tony Blair hasn’t had me bumped off for saying rude things about his hair, and Mr Blogs hasn’t buried me under the patio. I have simply been very busy. But fear not, from 27th December I shall be back to normal, and you will see the usual stream of mind-numbing drivel posted here.

Having said that, I would like to thank the people who have emailed/posted comments enquiring about my absence. It is nice to know that ones presence is missed, and with hindsight, I would have been quite upset if no one had noticed I was AWOL.

You will also be relieved to know I have been making notes of potential blog posts, whether these will ever come to fruition is debatable but I have been thinking of ways to inform and entertain you. Plus, I have come up with some other plans which I hope to enact in the New Year.

One thing I am pondering is the possibility of reviving a couple of ezines I used to publish. One was on the theme of writing, the other web design. I don’t intend to bring back both, but the idea of merging them into one does appeal. I produced them for a couple of years, but had to shelve them when I became involved in other (paying) projects that took up a lot of my time. However, I rather miss the whole procedure, even though they were most definitely a labour of love, I found the process of editing, content selection etc. rather enjoyable. So, I’m hoping to revive the concept, but this time in the form of one monthly ezine which covers writing, web design, blogging, graphics and other web related creative concepts.

Oh, and before I go, I have switched over to the new Blogger. Better late than never. I received an invite to switch when new Blogger beta first emerged – Google seems to like me, it always sends me invites for new things* – but I couldn’t switch at the time because I am admin of a team blog . Now, finally, I too can enjoy groovy new features :-)

* And that is only fair because I love Google too (creep, creep)

  1. “mind-numbing drivel posted here”: YES!! More drivel my life has been incompleate without it.

    On the subject of ezines.

    (a) If I have time I will be happy to write the odd article for you.

    (b) Promote it by posting some articles to Buzz42.com with a nice fat about the author under it.

    (c) Sign me up

    (d) Good luck.

    oh yes almost forgot…

    (e) I have been planing an old style Sci-Fi, Fantisy and Fiction zine and have gotten as far as doing some graphics and mocking up a blogger account to see what it would be like. If I get any further perhaps we can do the zine equive of “swap links”.

All the best and welcome back (did I already say that?).

  2. Good to see you back, Kate!

I still haven’t been invited to go Beta, which is in fact no longer in Beta anyway, so I don’t know when I’ll get to switch…

  3. Matt – well, I’m glad someone appreciates my drivel LOL

I’ll take you up on your offer, it would be great to have some submissions from people I know. I’ll send you the link when I get everything set up.

I like the idea of an old style sci-fi ezine. Let me know if need any content, I have a couple of sci-fi short stories hanging around somewhere.

Asterisk – They seem to be adding people to new Blogger quite slowly. Apparently, you see a notice on your dashboard when they are ready for you to switch. It might take a while for them to move your account, if you have a lot of posts and/or more than one blog it isn’t a 60 second affair. Mine took so long I started to panic thinking it had all gone horribly wrong.

  4. I’m really dreading it. I have about 8 blogs I think, including shared ones, and my main one is quite big, I guess. Oh god….

  5. Happy Christmas Kate :)

  6. ooh! I was wondering where you went, but then again blogrolling never updates for me or when it does it updates everyone.

Happy Holidays!!! Glad to see you have posted again!

Catch ya in 2007 and I will sign up for the team blog again :)

  7. Asterisk: it sounds like it might take a while. Whatever you do, don’t panic and become all tearful, (not that I did of course) it will work.

Kim: And a Happy Christmas to you too :-)

Nixxie: Blogrolling did that for me too, I switched to Bloglines which works a bit better, but still has off days.

Glad to hear you still want to join up – I’ll send you a new invite after the holiday.

    Happy Christmas :-)
